Edward Esposito Named Chair of RTNDA

LAS VEGAS -- The members of the Radio-Television News Directors Association elected new board members during RTNDA@NAB , their annual conference.

With the close of the convention, the gavel passed to the new RTNDA chairman, Edward Esposito, vice president of information media for Rubber City Radio Group in Akron, OH . He succeeds Bill Roswell, d irector of digital news and media at KYW-AM in Philadelphia.

Stacey Woelfel , news director at KOMU-TV in Columbia, MO, is RTNDA’s chair-elect. He will produce the 2009 RTNDA convention.

Loren Tobia, senior account executive at Accuweather, was elected to a three-year term as RTNDA treasurer. This is Tobia's third term as treasurer.

RTNDA voting members also elected two directors-at-large, who will serve two-year terms:

  • David Louie , reporter, KGO-TV, San Francisco
  • Ed Tobias , assistant managing editor/broadcast news, The Associated Press, Washington
        The results of the regional elections held earlier this year are:

  • Region 1 and Region 3 will now be represented by Kathy Walker, news director, KOA-AM, Denver.
  • Region 6 will continue to be represented by Kevin Benz, news director, News 8 Austin, Austin, TX.
  • Region 8 and Region 9 will now be represented by Randy Bell, news director, WMSI-FM/WQJQ-FM/WJDX-AM, Jackson, MS.
  • Region 10 will now be represented by Andrew Vrees, news director, WMUR-TV, Manchester, NH.
