Membership Categories
Membership is open to any electronic journalist. You do not have to be a news director to take advantage of RTNDA membership benefits and services. To apply for membership, please fax (202.223.4007) or mail the membership application. For information on membership benefits, please click here.
Radio News Director/Manager - $140
Voting - any person actively engaged in the preparation of news for a licensed radio or television station, cable system, network or other program service. Includes titles such as GM, VP/News, News Director, Assistant News Director, Program Director, Managing Editor.
Radio News Staff - $120
Voting - any person actively engaged in the preparation of news for a licensed radio or television station, cable system, network or other program service, but NOT in a position to exercise significant editorial supervision of news programming. Includes titles such as Reporter, Producer, Anchor, Correspondent.
TV News Director/Manager - $199
Voting - any person actively engaged in the preparation of news for a licensed radio or television station, cable system, network or other program service. Includes titles such as GM, VP/News, News Director, Assistant News Director, EP, Assignment Editor, Managing Editor.
TV News Staff - $150
Voting - any person actively engaged in the preparation of news for a licensed radio or television station, cable system, network or other program service, but NOT in a position to exercise significant editorial supervision of news programming. Includes titles such as Reporter, Producer, Anchor, Correspondent, Photographer.
Online and Emerging Media News Professional - $145
Voting - any person involved in online (Internet) news.
New Professional - $85
Voting - recent college graduate who is actively engaged in the preparation of news or is seeking positions in the field. May designate this category for up to two years after college graduation.
Educator - $140
Any person teaching full- or part-time at a high school, college or university.
Student - $65
Full-time college students preparing for radio or television journalism careers.
Associate - $199
Any individual supporting the goals of RTNDA, but not qualified for any other category of membership. Includes PR and Media Relations professionals.
Government Associate - $185
Government employees who support the goals of RTNDA, including public affairs and public relations professionals. (Government Associate dues will be exempt from supporting RTNDA government affairs activities.)
Retired - $70
Any individual who is retired and has been an RTNDA member for at least five years. Does not apply to those who leave the field but remain consultants.
Supplier - $535
Companies or organizations that provide products, information and/or services to the electronic journalism industry or that utilize the RTNDA membership for business purposes. (membership is for the company/organization, includes one contact person that gets communications; etc. additional staff can be added for $110)
