RTDNA has supported research on the state of radio and television news since 1972. The annual surveys have been conducted by industry researcher Bob Papper.


2011 Salary Survey: Sharp Rise in TV & Radio News Salaries

Not only did TV news staffing go up noticeably this past year, so did salaries. The latest RTDNA/Hofstra University Annual Survey found that local television news salaries rose 7.3% during 2010. The numbers are a sharp contrast to the last two years, when salaries actually fell 4.4% two years ago before rising a modest 2.5% last year.

2010 Salary Survey: News Salaries Stabilize

The good news in broadcast news salaries in 2009 is that there isn't bad news, according to the latest RTDNA/Hofstra University Annual Survey.Local television news salaries rose a modest 2.5 percent during 2009, and local radio news salaries were unchanged.�
