RTNDA STUDENT CHAPTER GUIDELINES

The board of directors may recognize as Student Chapters of the Association, groups of students of universities and colleges offering instruction in radio and television journalism, provided such groups adopt bylaws, which the board determines will promote the purposes of the Association and are consistent with the bylaws of the Association. The board of directors will consider affiliation at their quarterly meetings held in April, June, October and January.

TO BECOME A STUDENT CHAPTER

  1. Faculty member must submit a request for chapter recognition to RTNDA and must be a current RTNDA member in good standing.

  2. Sponsoring institutions must have at least five RTNDA student members in good standing at the time student chapter status is granted. Any other students involved with or attending RTNDA student chapter functions must also be current members.

  3. Chapter organizers must return a sign copy of the chapter constitution and other paperwork by the end of spring semester/quarter.

TO REMAIN A STUDENT CHAPTER

  1. A chapter must have a minimum of five RTNDA students members in good standing, with national dues paid.

  2. A chapter must have submitted its annual report to the RTNDA Washington office by June 1.

  3. Chapters failing to meet the above requirements will be given a year to do so. At the end of the year, RTNDA will have the option of revoking the student chapter’s status.

  4. A student chapter that loses chapter status may reapply when it can give an assurance that it will meet the basic chapter requirements upon reinstatement.
